Racers within one shot of title, Frazier takes over individual lead

The Murray State men's golf team pulled to within one shot of first place, shooting a second-round-best 291 this afternoon in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The tournament is being held at the par-72, 7,001-yard Burningtree Golf Course in Decatur, Ala.
The Racers have a two-round total of 582, just a shot behind first-place Austin Peay, which also shot a 291 today for a two-round score of 581. Samford is in third at 583, followed by Eastern Kentucky at 591, Jacksonville State at 592, Morehead State and Tennessee-Martin tied at 593, Southeast Missouri State and Tennessee Tech tied at 596, Tennessee State at 597 and Eastern Illinois at 614.
Jamie Frazier shot a four-under-par 68 today to push into first place in the 55-golfer tournament with a two-round score of 140. Michael Craft and Will Cox are tied for 16th with a score of 147, while Kyle Shirley is tied for 22nd at 148 and Jerry Price has a 156.
The third and final round will be played tomorrow (Wednesday). The champion earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
