Lady Racers win Lady Colonel meet

The Murray State women's tennis team won the Lady Colonel Classic, shooting the best scores in al three rounds to finish with a three-round score of 936, nine strokes ahead of tournament host Eastern Kentucky.
The tournament was held at the par-72, 6,193-yard Arlington Golf Course in Richmond, Ky.
Senior Santie Koch tied for second in the 47-golfer meet with a 227, firing a74 in the final round today. Senior Nikki Orazine placed fifth with a 229, while junior April Steenbergen was 13th with a 240, junior Ilka Loubser tied for 18th with a 245 and sophomore Camilla Loeveid tied for 30th with a 252.
Sophomore Christi Baron golfed as an individual and scored a 245, while sophomore Lauren Hughes also golfed as an individual and scored a 261.
Murray State now has two weeks to prepare for its third consecutive title defense at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship, held April 18-20 in Decatur, Ala.
