Lady Herd Fall Classic (Marshall University)
Kelbough leads Lady Racers at Marshall golf tournament

Murray State golfers Ashley Kelbough and Christi Baron were the top finishers for the Lady Racer golf team at the Lady Herd Invitational, hosted by Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.
They both finished in 20th place out of 50 competitors in three days of competition at the Guyan Golf and Country Club. Kelbough fired rounds of 84-78-80 for a total of 242. Baron had rounds of 84-78-80.
The tournament winner from Marshall, Allyson Hatcher, had rounds of 77-72-75 for a total of 224.
The Lady Racers finished in sixth place out of eight teams, beating out Darmouth and Austin Peay with a total of 976 after rounds of 331-319-326. Marshall won the event with a total of 917.
Murray's Lauren Hughes, playing as an individual, fired her best round of 78 to finish at 244 and a tie for 23rd.
Julie Bennett, also playing individually, turned in a final-round 83 to finish with a 247 in 26th place. She shared 26th with teammate April Steenbergen, who fired a final round 82.
Jena Lancaster had a final-round 88 and finished 38th, while Ilka Loubser had a 90 in the final round and finished 41st.
The Lady Racers play next weekend in the Ann Rhoads Invitational hosted by the University of Alabama.
