Scott earns OVC Newcomer honor

Murray State Lady Racer Joi Scott earned this week's Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honor, the third such honor for the junior forward.

Scott earned this week's honor by averaging 15.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in the Lady Racers' games against Tennessee Tech and Southeast Missouri State. Scott scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds in MSU's 82-70 win against OVC co-leader Tennessee Tech and had 12 points and eight rebounds in Murray State's 71-52 loss at Southeast Missouri State.

The honor is the fifth weekly conference honor this season for Murray State. Ashley Nichole Hayes has twice won the OVC Freshman of the Week award.
