MSU Golf Finishes Strong at APSU Intercollegiate

The Racers got off to a slow start with a team 291, but followed with a pair of 284's to finish with a total of 859.
Jerry Price led the way for MSU with rounds of 72-69-71=212 and a third place finish, the best ever for the Racer junior. Michael Craft charged to a 12th place finish with rounds of 74-70-72=216, while Mitchell Moore started hot with a 70-71 but came home with a 78 for a total of 219 and a 20th place finish. Nick Griffin finished 22nd with rounds of 76-74-71=221 and Kyle Landrum had rounds of 75-77-70=222 good for a 28th place finish.

The Murray State Women's Golf team continues to make positive strides after they moved up to a notch to a ninth place finish with final round 336 which was seven shots better than their first round 343. The Racers total was 679.
Freshman Andrea Downer led the way for MSU with rounds of 83-85=168 and a 27th place finish. Christi Baron rebounded from a first round 86 with a final round 83 and total of 169 good for a 33rd place finish. Bethany Yates fired rounds of 87-83=170 and finished 36th. Lauren Hughes finished 43rd after rounds of 87-85=172, while Jessica Wilson's rounds of 96-88=184 meant a 62nd place finish.
Ashley Yates and Jena Lancaster played as individuals and finished 51st and 69th. Yates had scores of 87-88=175 and Lancaster turned in scores of 94-97=191.
