Murray State Golf Takes own Invitational

October 3, 2006 -- The Murray State Men's Golf team was able to come from a stroke behind to win it's own invitational event Tuesday when they fired a final round 281 to get past Tennessee Tech by six shots. The Racers 281 was the lowest round of the 54-hole event played at MSU's home links Miller Memorial Golf Course.
The Racers who had no players under par in yesterday's first round placed two in red numbers in the final round. Michael Craft shot the low round of the day along with Lloyd Roth of
The Racers Blue team 858 total score was six clear of second place TTU.
The individual title was a tie between Scott Stallings of Tennessee Tech and Phillip Watkins of
The Racers Gold team finished 10th in the field of 15 teams with a total score of 892. Kyle Landrum had three straight 72's and finished 12th. Mark Brant had a 73 in the final round good for a 27th place finish. Josh Burks was 33rd with a 75 and Jared Wolfe moved up to a 60th place finish with a 73.
The Racers hope to take this good feeling with them to their next event, Oct. 6-7 in
