MSU Golf Hitting the Links In Florida

The Murray State Men's Golf team hit their shots today in sunny Florida at the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic and stand in 11^th place after 18 holes of this 54-hole event.

Leading the way for the Racers is Jerry Price who fired a three-over par 74 and sits in 24^th place in the field of 90 competitors. Chris Griffin's 75 has him in 29^th place, while Michael Craft is in 46^th place after he fired a 77. Nick Griffin's 78 put him in 53^rd place after the first round and Mitchell Moore's 82 landed him in 82^nd place.

The Racers first round score of 304 puts MSU in 11^th place in the field of 18 teams. The Racers are one shot ahead of 12^th place St. John's and one shot behind 10^th place Stetson.

Host Winthrop is the team to catch after a 287. Wofford is two shots back at 289 and Radford is in third with a 292. Fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Jacksonville State fired a 294 and is in fifth place.

The tournament is being played at the Mission Inn Resort in Orlando, Fla. The course measures 6,814 yards for the event and a par of 71.
