Murray State NCAA Tournament Game To Be Televised Locally

Murray State University's game against North Carolina in the 2006 NCAA Tournament will be televised locally by the CBS affiliate KFVS-12 of Cape Girardeau, Mo. The 14th seeded Racers will face the third seeded Tar Heels at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio, on Friday.
The game is scheduled to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Michigan State/George Mason match-up. The Racers and Tar Heels should tip-off at approximately 8:47 p.m. CT.

KFVS-12 serves more than 50 counties in four states. The KFVS market ranks as the nation's 73rd largest out of 211 total television markets.
MSU (24-6) earned the automatic bid from the Ohio Valley Conference after capturing its 13th OVC Tournament title on Mar. 4 with a 74-57 win over Samford in Nashville, Tenn. Murray State posted a 17-3 conference mark during the regular season on its way to earning its 20th OVC regular season championship.
The Racers are making the school's 13th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its fourth appearance as the 14th seed. In its last trip to the "Big Dance" MSU, the 12th seed, lost to
Murray State Head Coach Mick Cronin is making his second appearance in the NCAA Tournament as a head coach. He led the Racers to the tourney in 2004.
