Men?s Track And Field Team Finishes Indoor Season At OVC Championships

The Murray State men's track and field team finished their indoor season last weekend, competing at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Nashville, Tenn., on Feb. 24-25. The men finished seventh out of seven OVC teams competing with a score of 11.
Eastern Illinois won the OVC Indoor title for the second straight season, finishing with a score of 208.5. Southeast Missouri was the runner-up with a composite score of 142, while Tennessee State was next with a score of 101.5. In fourth place was Eastern Kentucky, with a score of 73, followed by Samford (44) and Morehead State (36).
Post-season awards were also announced, with the OVC Male Athlete of the Championship going to Miles Smith of Southeast Missouri, and the OVC Men's Coach of the Year being awarded to Tom Akers of Eastern Illinois.
