Racer Golf Finishes Fifth at Rain-Shortened Hawaii Event

The Murray State men's golf squad comes home from their trip to Hawaii with a fifth place finish at the 7th annual Kauai Collegiate Cup hosted by Western Kentucky University, at the Makai Course at the Princeville Resort on the island of Kauai in Hawaii.

The event was scheduled for three rounds, but due to some strange weather for this part of the world, the second and third rounds were rained out.

The Racers finished fifth with a score of 289. Illinois State took top honors with a round of 278.

The Racers were led by Will Cox with a three-under 69 to place in a tie for fifth. Michael Craft shot a 70 good for a tie for 36^th. Kyle Shirley turned in a 75 and also placed 36^th. Jamie Frazier also had a 75 in round one. Nick Griffin's 77 placed him 77^th and rounded out the Racers scoring.

The Racers return to action April 3 & 4 at the Belmont Invitational.
