The Murray State women's golf team finished seventh in the 14-team Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate, held yesterday and today at the par-72, 5,942-yard El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus Springs, Fla.

Murray State fired a third-round 315 today to forge ahead of eighth-place Eastern Kentucky, which slumped today with a final-round 330. The Lady Racers finished with a score of 963, just three shots behind Wichita State and seven strokes behind fifth-place North Texas. Maryland won the tournament with a three-round score of 916.

Murray State was led by Christi Baron, who tied for 19th in the 79-golfer event with a 78-80-79 = 237. Ilka Loubser tied for 22nd with a 240, while Lauren Hughes tied for 25th with a 241. Julie Bennett tied for 45th with a 252, while Ashley Kelbough tied for 47th with a 253.

Murray State will next compete at the Southern Illinois Saluki Invitational on Sunday and Monday in Carbondale, Ill.
