Lady Racers in Sixth After Round One of MSU Big River Telephone Classic

Round one of Murray State's Big River Telephone Classic women's golf tournament is in the book and Cincinnati is the team to beat after the Lady Bearcats fired a first round 324 Monday at MSU's home course, Miller Memorial Golf Course.
The competitors played in breezy, cool, but sunny conditions in the opening round.
Murray State sits in sixth place after one round. The Lady Racers fired a first round 341, 17 shots behind first place Cincinnati.
Senior Julie Bennett shot the Lady Racers best round of the day, a 10-over par 82 which has her in a tie for sixth place with Keli Warner of Eastern Kentucky, Lynnsey Showers of Butler, Christa Cloutier of Saint Louis, and Tennessee Tech's Kristen Martinez.
Cincinnati has the top three scores after round one: Hillery Wilson is the lead after a 6-over 78, Allison Mayborg, 80 and Chelsa Dooley, 81.
Eastern Kentucky is in second place with a score of 331, followed by Butler, 334, Tennessee Tech 339, and Western Kentucky with a score of 340 in fifth place.
After the Lady Racers 341 in sixth place, it's Central Arkansas, 343, Saint Louis, 348, Tennessee State, 380, Dayton, 382, and 11th place Chicago State, 425.
After Bennett's 82, the other MSU scores are: Christi Baron is in a tie for 14th with an 84, Ilka Loubser's 86 has her in a tie for 32nd, Ashley Kelbough sits in a tie for 39th after an 89 and Lauren Hughes' 93 has her in 52nd place in the field of 70 players.
The event will finish Tuesday at Miller Memorial which his playing 6,017 yards and a par of 72.
