Murray State Rowing Claims Two Trophies At John Hunter Regatta

The varsity-four crew consisted of Sarah Bullock at stroke, Rachel Hopper in the three-seat, Anna Brown in the two-seat, Tracy Bogard at the bow and Samantha Hobbs as the coxswain.

In the finals, Georgia Tech was not a factor as the Racers cruised to victory a full seven seconds in front of second place Virginia Tech (8:06.2). MSU's time of 7:59.2 in the finals was 9.7 seconds quicker than its time in the preliminary round.
“Georgia Tech fell back quickly and we traded back and forth with Virginia Tech,” said Murray State Head Coach Bill McLean. “In the final 750 meters we started pulling away and with 500 meters to go we were really moving.”
Georgia Tech (8:09.5) placed third in the finals, 10.3 seconds behind the Racers.

The novice final was divided into four separate races, with the Murray State squad of Elizabeth Van Lengen at stroke, Andria Kroner in the three-seat, Christa Bugg in the two-seat, Kelly Anderson at the bow and Toni Guthrie as the coxswain winning their finals and turning in the best time of all the participants.
MSU's time of 8:09.2 easily beat its opponents in group three.
