Racers Women's Golf In 12th After Round One Of EKU Invite

Round one of the Eastern Kentucky Invitational was unkind for the Murray State women's squad on Thursday. The Racers had trouble on a breezy day at Arlington Golf Course and came home with a first round 330, placing them in 12th place of the 14-team event.
Ashley Kelbough's 81 was the best of the day for the Racers, she is in 32nd place. Lauren Hughes came home with an 82 and sits in 43rd place. Christi Baron cooled from her recent good play and shot an 83 and is in 50th place. Bethany Yates 84 has her in 54th place and Julie Bennett's 86 puts her in 68th place.
Toledo has the lead after the first 18 holes of the 54-hole event with a score of 299. Tennessee Tech is in second with a 312, followed by Eastern Michigan (315), Eastern Kentucky (316), Oakland (316) and Austin Peay 319.
The tournament wraps up Friday with 36 holes of competition.
The Arlington course is playing to a par of 72 and 5,817 yards.
