The Murray State women's golf squad came home with a tenth place finish in the Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational played at the Arlington Golf Club in Richmond Ky. The Racers final round 343 gave them a three round total of 1,005.

Lauren Hughes was the Racers best finisher coming in with a final round 86 and a 54-hole total of 251. Hughes finished in 36th place. Christi Baron's final round 83 was the best of the day for MSU, putting her in 46th position. Julie Bennett, Ashley Kelbough and Bethany Yates all finished in 50th place after rounds of 87, 91 and 87.

Toledo was the run away winner of the EKU event with a total of 922, which was 30 shots clear of second place Eastern Michigan with a score of 952.

The Racers now prepare to host the OVC Championship April 17-19 at Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter, Ky.

MSU has won six OVC titles with two streaks of three straight. The first three in a row string came in 1997, 98, 99 and the other was in 2002, 03, 04.
