His father, Ron Barnard played at Murray State in the early 90's and is a former coach at Graves County and now coaches at Paducah Tilghman.
His coach at Owensboro Catholic, John Edge is also a former Racer from the 90's.
“He's a very smart kid, of course a lot of that has do with his dad being a coach,” Edge said. “He is a natural quarterback; his knowledge of the game is miles ahead of some kids who play the sport.”
