Murray State Football Announces 2006 Football Schedule

Murray State Football released its 2006 schedule Wednesday. The 11 game slate includes five home games with the first coming Sep. 23 when the Racers host Illinois State at 6 p.m., beginning the 33rd season of collegiate football at MSU's Roy Stewart Stadium.
Included in the home portion of the schedule are late season league games with SE Missouri State and Tennessee-Martin.

Murray State Head Coach Matt Griffin knows his team has one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

MSU Athletics Director Allen Ward said the 2006 schedule is a challenge. “It's probably the best schedule the Racers have played in a long time. I wish we would have had a little more control over the make-up of the schedule, but unfortunately, we didn't.”
“I hope our future schedules are more balanced during the early part of the season,” Ward added.
