Racers Focus On Special Teams During Tuesday's Practice

The team warmed up with position station work. During this time the fullbacks and tight ends worked through several blocking drills.
“We've got a good group,” senior fullback Nate More said of the tight ends and fullbacks. “Coach (Matt) Wise is showing us how to block. We got a job to do and we come out everyday and do it.”
“The tight ends and fullbacks have made good improvement since the spring, I'm happy with where we're at,” said MSU Tight Ends/Fullbacks Coach Matt Wise said. “Their effort is there all the time and that is something you can't coach.”
This group isn't all about blocking.
“We ask them to do everything,” Wise said. “They have to be able to block, run routes and catch balls.”
Most of practice was spent working on punting, kickoffs and point-after attempts. During kickoff drills, junior Koji Farrington returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. Soon after, junior Derrick Parrott returned a kick 95 yards for a score.
