The win for MSU was about as solid a defensive effort that imaginable.
The Racers held the Lady Governors to 11 shots on the day, only five were on goal and MSU goal keeper Heather Jones stopped four.
The game was scoreless in the first half when Lacey Latimer and Sara Struve hooked up once again on a corner kick. Struve lofted a perfect kick in front of the goal and Latimer headed the ball in for a 1-0 MSU lead 26:51 into the match.

It was only four minute later in the 78th minute when the Racers got the break they needed. Rebekah Clay crossed midfield and softly kicked the ball forward. Abraham tried to come out the goal to stop the play, but Curry got to the ball first. With Abraham out of position, Curry chipped the ball forward over the keeper and the ball trickled into the net for a 2-1 MSU lead.
APSU put some pressure on the Racers in the final 12 minutes of the match, but the Racers managed to hang on for a big win.
