Murray State sophomore running back Charlie Jordan was named the Pepsi Athlete of the Week after his career performance helped the Racers to a 31-17 victory over Southeast Missouri State.
Jordan (Memphis, Tenn.) rushed for 102 of his career-high 157 yards in the fourth quarter and sealed the victory with a 20-yard TD run with just over six minutes remaining in the game. For Jordan, it was his second-straight 100-yard performance (127 yards against Eastern Illinois) after no Racer tailback had gone over 100 yards in 13 games. The last back to do it was Jordan against Indiana State on Sept. 16, 2006.
On the season, Jordan leads the team with 428 yards on 84 carries and four touchdowns. He also has 16 receptions for 112 yards.
