In the second half, the Racers had to play extremely hard on defense to hold the 1-0 lead.
In the 73rd minute, they got some breathing room on the foot of a freshman.
Kalli McCoy gathered a pass about 30 yards from the goal and made a spinning right footed rocket that found the upper left corner of the net for a 2-0 MSU lead. It was also McCoy's third goal of the season.
The Racers managed to hold the Eagles off in the remaining 16 minutes to record their fourth shutout of 2007.
MSU finished with seven shots and four on goal, while the Eagles had nine shots and three on goal.
The Racers are back at Cutchin Field Sunday at 1 p.m. to face off with
