Tara Isbell Named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week

Tara Isbell, a freshman goal keeper from Mayfield, Ky., was named Ohio Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the week of Oct. 9, marking the first time a Murray State goalkeeper has ever earned the award, which began in 2005.
Isbell posted her second and third shutouts of the season in a 2-0 win over
Isbell made a career-high eight saves against EKU, with seven of them coming in the second half when MSU was protecting a 1-0 lead.
Isbell played all 180 minutes in the two games, didn't give up a goal and made 11 total saves. Her goals against average was lowered from 1.77 to 1.26, which pushed her into the top four in the Ohio Valley Conference.
MSU has won seven games this season, five of them coming by way of a shutout.
Isbell and the Racers will be on the road for the next three games, before coming home for senior day Oct. 21 against
MSU is 7-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the OVC.
