Hayes Earns Second Straight OVC Player Of The Week Honor

Junior guard/forward Ashley Hayes earned her second straight Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honor today. She is the first player in the league to repeat the honor this season.

Hayes earned the honor this week after claiming her fourth straight double-double -- her sixth in seven games -- by scoring 19 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds at Lipscomb on Saturday. Hayes was 9-for-17 from the field, and 10 of her rebounds were on the defensive end. She also swiped two steals in the game.

Murray State (7-2, 2-0 OVC) returns to conference play on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Jacksonville State (5-4, 2-0 OVC). The Racers will then visit Samford on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
