Former MSU Golfer Pace Gets First Professional Victory

Former Murray State student-athlete Lee-Anne Pace claimed her first professional victory in the Pam Golding Ladies International Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Pace, a native of the country, closed with a one under par 72 on the par-73 layout to win at 11-under par 208 and scored her first professional victory in her 17^th event.

“It feels great. But it had to take a second or two to actually sink in,” she said. “I wanted to win a tournament especially in South Africa. Coming back here you almost have to prove yourself, so I'm very happy.”

Lee-Anne Pace spent the 2003 season at Murray State helping the Lady Racers to the Ohio Valley Conference championship and and was named the Player of the Year in the league.
