Murray State Football Spring Report: Practice #12

Today's practice included pass skeleton, position drills and a brief period of 11-on-11 play.
During the 11-on-11 drill running back Josh Jones turned a backfield pass into a 40-yard reception. Jones juked his way past a couple of defenders before cutting back to the middle of the field and accelerating 40 more yards.
Following the short 11-on-11 drill the offense and defense broke apart. The offense worked on running plays, allowing everyone several reps on each play.
The defensive line got a lesson from coach Johnny Jernigan on the importance of their footwork.
The safeties worked on a drill with coach Aaron Hutsell designed to make the players choose zone or man coverage based on the play and the quarterback's movement.
The Racers' next practice will be held on Wednesday at
