The Murray State Racers turned in a solid fourth place finish Tuesday at the O'Reilly's Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship at the CC of
The Racers started the season ending tournament Sunday with a 313 and improved with a 306 in Monday's second round.
MSU junior Jerry Price showed that he belongs in the upper tier of players in the OVC with a 12th place finish in the field of 50 competitors. His final round 3-over 75 started with seven straight pars, before he double-bogeyed the 8th hole. Price made birdie at the 16th, but had bogeys at the 11th and 18th holes. He had rounds of 79-74 in the first two days of competition and finished with a 12-over 228.
Senior Kyle Landrum finished 20th in his final event as a MSU player with rounds of 78-76-79=223, while sophomore Mitchell Moore finished 25th with scores of 77-82-76=235. Junior Mark Brant placed 30th after carding scores of 83-80-74=237 and senior Michael Craft finished 32nd with scores of 79-77-82=238.
Jacksonville State's Daniel Willett won OVC medalist honors with rounds of 73-74-67=214. Teammates Julian Colmenares, Bryan Rozier and Tennessee Tech's Scott Stallings finished tied for second at 220.
