Murray State's football team returned to the practice field on Monday after two days off. The Racers' focus remained high in the team's eighth practice of the spring.

A pair of defensive backs played well in one-on-one drills with the wide receivers. Taylor Lanigan and Josh Marshall each had an interception.

During 11-on-11 play, fullback Bryan Cardenas caught a 12-yard pass out of the backfield. Moments later, Josh Jones broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown run. Jones came to the left side and then cut back to the middle of the field on his way to the end zone.

The Racers' return to the practice field on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.

Murray State will open its 2007 season on Aug. 30 when the team travels to Louisville, Ky., to face the University of Louisville at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. CT.
