MSU Names Christi Baron As Its Coca-Cola Community All-American

Baron distinguished herself by being involved with numerous community service and campus service projects. She has been recognized for her campus service through involvement with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where she has been co-president and a huddle leader. She has helped with campus and community service projects as a member of the Murray State Women's Golf Team, and has been a mentor with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Baron has also volunteered with the Fit Life for Kids organization and been involved in several other campus and community service events.
"We are extremely proud of all our student-athletes and the tremendous commitments they've made to this institution and our community through their community service efforts," said Matt Kelly, Associate Director of Athletics. "In addition to bringing national attention to the issues of volunteerism and community involvement, the Coca-Cola Community All-Americans program provides a platform for colleges and universities to honor and recognize student-athletes, like Christi, for their outstanding contributions to the communities in which they live, learn, work and play."

Baron will be leading her team into the Ohio Valley Conference Championship next week. As a junior, she had a team-best 80.63 stroke average and turned in seven top-20 performances including a fifth place showing at the OVC Championship last April.
She has also qualified for and played in the Kentucky State Women's Amateur Championship. Baron is majoring in nutrition/dietetics.
