MSU Has Last Scrimmage Before Opener

The Murray State Soccer team had a solid Blue-Gold scrimmage Sunday afternoon at Cutchin Field.
The Gold team won the exhibition 3-0 on goals from Laken Dirkes, Melisa Curry and Katie Wilson. Other Gold team members included: Tara Isbell, Rebecca Shultz, Sara Struve, Kalli McCoy, Krista Muilkins, Jen Peios, Jane DeWitt and Kellyn Robison.
The Gold team goals came at the fifth, seventh and 40th minute of the match.
The Racers have plenty of momentum going into their opener after beating
"It was great to see our entire team play," MSU head coach Beth Acreman said. "Although it was a team scrimmage, it was definitely intense.”
“Both teams played with composure and discipline which we having been working on a lot. We're very excited to see how we are improving".
The Racers open the season Friday with a 4 p.m. contest at
Sunday, the Racers begin a three-game home stand when they host Lipscomb at Cutchin Field at 1 p.m.
MSU is also at home Sept. ninth at 12 p.m. against
