Murray State head coach Matt Griffin saw some familiar faces today, as all MSU football players reported to Stewart Stadium for first day registration at 9 a.m. today.
All Racer players completed physicals in the MSU training room, signed compliance forms, were issued their equipment, and were assigned their dorm for the pre-season.
After a lunch break, players were issued their Murray State ID card in the Curris Center, and were issued a parking pass for the 2007-08 school year.
The team dinner was scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by stretching exercises and speed and agility testing inside the stadium. This was the first time several players got to experience the new FieldTurf that was installed over the summer.
Unit meetings were scheduled for 9 p.m., then all players are required to be back in their dorm room for a bed check/lights out at 10:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the team begins their day with a breakfast at 6:15 a.m., followed by academic orientation and conditioning/strength testing. The first pre-season practice will occur Monday at 4 p.m.
Murray State opens its 83rd season of college football on Aug. 30 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, where they will face the University of Louisville Cardinals. Kick-off time is set for 6:30 p.m.
