Murray State golfer Alexandra Hintereger posted a team-best 36^th place finish at the Great Smokies Women's Collegiate played at Waynesville, N.C.

Hintereger, a freshman from La Lucia Durban, South Africa fired rounds of 76-79 for a total of 155, she was the Racers' best finisher in the 36-hole event.

Megan McKinney finished 49^th after rounds of 78-79=157, while Andrea Downer came home 69^th with scores of 81-80=161. Caroline Lagerborg finished 89^th with scores of 81-84=165, Bethany Yates posted a 99^th place finish with rounds of 83-85=168.

As a team, the Racers finished 17^th with scores of 316-322=638. Chattanooga won the event with a score of 591, with Elon in second (592) and South Alabama in third (599).

The event was played at Waynesville Country Club at a distance of 5,920 yards to a par-72, there were 120 competitors in the field from 24 teams.

The next event for Murray State is in Jonesboro, Ark. Oct. 8 at the Lady Indian Classic hosted by Arkansas State.
