The Murray State football team will look to put an end to a four-game losing streak as they travel to Austin Peay for their first road Ohio Valley Conference game of the season.
STORY LINES
Saturday's matchup is the 42nd meeting between the two schools. The Racers hold a 28-13 advantage in the series. MSU is 11-9 in games played in Clarksville, but have won six of the last seven meetings at Governors Stadium.
Both teams struggle in the first quarter as the Governors are being outscored 39-0 in the first quarter, while the Racers are being outscored 66-10 in the opening 15 minutes. The Racers have allowed two big kick returns in the last two games and now face one of the top kick returners in the OVC in APSU's Terrence Holt. Last season, Holt returned a kickoff late in the game to give the Governors a 23-17 victory over MSU in the 2007 finale. The Racer offense will be at full force for the second-straight week after the return of quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt and wide receiver Derrick Townsel last week. The duo helped the Racers amass 539 yards of total offense.About the Opponent The Governors are coming off a tough 13-10 overtime loss against defending champion Eastern Kentucky. Despite turning the ball over eight times, MSU scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and tied the game on an 11-yard pass from Chris Franklin to Rod Harper.
