MSU's Rebekah Clay Earns NSCAA All-Region Selection

By receiving the NSCAA award, Clay is among the best NCAA D-I players in the Great Lakes Region which includes schools from Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, and South Dakota.

Clay showed her “team first” attitude in thanking her teammates for this individual honor.
“I'm just really excited that MSU Soccer has gotten a lot of recognition as a program,” Clay said. “Our program is starting to make a name out there and I know if we hadn't done so well as a team none of this would've happened to me.”
"This is such an accomplishment for Rebekah to be recognized by coaches in our region,” MSU Head Coach Beth Acreman said. “It is one thing to be recognized by coaches in our conference, but when your abilities are appreciated on the regional level, it is definitely something special.”
Clay was a senior on MSU's Ohio Valley Conference championship team leading the Racers to its first regular season title and a school record 12 wins.

She is MSU's only four-time All-OVC Soccer selection.
Clay ended her MSU career ranked first in all-time assists (21), first in shots on goal (106), first in games played (78), second in points (69), second in shots (178), third in goals (24).
“Rebekah is such a great person and is humble is all she does,” Acreman added. “I am just so proud of her and hope she realizes how great this is for her as an individual and for our program.”
“She has set the standard for our program and we are excited to see her continue her soccer career on the next level."
Clay has been a big part of a MSU Soccer program that rose to a higher level by reaching the goal of an OVC title.
“The program has gotten better every year we've been here,” Clay added. “Hopefully the program can continue to get better and eventually get to the NCAA tournament.”
Clay, an outstanding student-athlete at MSU is an OVC Medal of Honor winner majoring in biology.
