'Breds Ready For Three Games Of Bayou Baseball
2/28/2008 6:00:00 AM | Baseball
The Murray State Thoroughbreds have only played four games thus far, but things are looking good right now, as the 'Breds have taken back-to-back 9-8 wins going into their three-game series at Nicholls State. Both were come-from-behind victories decided in the last inning. Murray State is hitting .306 over the last two games, with 11 hits coming in each game, 9-8 wins over Bradley at MSU's Reagan Field on Sunday and at Memphis on Wednesday.
Host Nicholls State, however, is off to a slow start, winless in its first five games, the most recent a 20-1 loss to New Orleans on Wednesday, which opened a four-game homestand for the Colonels.
The three-game series begins on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The teams will also play Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. After the series, the 'Breds will play at Belmont on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
