Yates Named OVC Golfer Of The Week

Murray State women's golfer Bethany Yates is the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

Yates, a junior from Bardstown, Ky. finished fifth over the weekend at the Shamrock Intercollegiate hosted by Winthrop in Tega Cay, S.C. She fired rounds of 76-81-75=232 and finished fifth in a field of 85 players. Her effort helped the Racers come home with the Shamrock championship.

Yates now has a 78.7 scoring average during the spring and has scored in the 70's in five of nine rounds.

The Racers next tournament is March 30-31 at the Saluki Invitational at Crab Orchard Golf Course in Carterville, Ill.
