The Murray State Men's Golf team finished third in a strong field of 16 teams at the Grover Page Classic at Jackson, Tenn. Tuesday at Jackson Country Club.

The Racers had scores of 293-295=588 to finish four shots behind champion Central Arkansas (584) and three shots behind second place Lipscomb (585). MSU shared third place with Western Illinois and bested the teams from UT-Martin (592), Tennessee Tech (595), Belmont (596), Tennessee State (609), and Cincinnati (613).

MSU's Cameron Carrico finished second in a field of 100 players with scores of 71-72=143, while Nick Newcomb rallied to finish 12^th with rounds of 73-75=148, along with Jared Wolfe who had scores of 71-77=148. Mitchell Moore finished 79-72=151, while Jerry Price had scores of 78-76=-154 that placed him 41^st.

MSU's Chris Griffin finished 41^st playing as an individual with rounds of 75-80=155, while teammate Hunter Ford shot 75-85=160 and placed 67^th.

The Racers led the field in par-4 scoring and were third in the event with 26 birdies.

MSU's next action will be in Limestone, Ala. at the Samford Intercollegiate. The event will be contested on the links at Limestone Springs Country Club.
