Murray State kicked off the second week of spring practice as they took to the field under the lights at Stewart Stadium Tuesday morning.
In the their second day of full pads, the Racers continued to implore more of their new offense, while the defense continued to work on their assignments and tackling.
The team conducted a short scrimmage at the end of practice with the offense starting on the opponent 35-yard line. On the first play, Charlie Jordan went around right end for a 29-yard gain. The defense would control the rest of the drive as they offense could not push it over the goal line.
The next series was a different story as quarterback Chris Franklin hit Marcus Harris on a 35-yard strike down the right sideline on the first play. Tyler Larson came on to convert the extra point.
The Racers' offense continued to pick up yardage on the ground as Paul McKinnis busted through the left side to get the team inside the 10-yard line where quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt would connect with Daniel Ard on a fade pattern in the back of the endzone.
The Racers return to practice at 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning at Stewart Stadium.
