Spring Game Set For Saturday

The Murray State football team will hold its annual Spring Game on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Stewart Stadium. Admission to the game is free.

The Spring Game is the conclusion of 15 workouts in pads allotted by the NCAA. The workouts allow the coaches to evaluate their returning players and address some needs heading into fall camp.

This year, the game will be conducted the same as the Racers previous scrimmages with the first-team offense going against the first-team defense and both second team's going head-to-head. The scrimmage will also include some special teams work.

The Racers offense spent a lot of time over the past few weeks implementing their new offense under first-year offensive coordinator Keeth Matheny. The scrimmage will allow fans the opportunity to get a first-hand look of what to expect come the Fall.

The Racers will open the 2008 season on Thursday, August 28, when they play host to Lambuth.
