The Murray State Men's Golf team begins play at the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Championship Sunday in Paducah, Ky. The three-round 54-hole tournament will be contested at the Country Club of Paducah and concludes with the championship ceremony on Tuesday, April 22nd.
The Racers are one of the favorites to win the title after a sizzling fall and spring 2007-08 season in which they finished out of the top-5 only once in 14 events, including two wins. Last week the Racers tuned up with a second place showing at the UK Bluegrass Invitational.
MSU is led by Nick Newcomb, Cameron Carrico and Jerry Price who all have a 73.3 scoring average, tied for 8th best in the league. Jared Wolfe (73.7) and Mitchell Moore (74.9) round out the MSU Starting five.
