The Murray State Men's Golf team stands in second place after one round of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship at the Country Club of Paducah, Ky.
The Racers' 305 in the first round of the 54-hole event was better than eight teams in the field, except leader
Jerry Price and Nick Newcomb each had 75's and a spot in 7th place to lead the Racers. Cameron Carrico's 77 was good for a spot in 13th place in the field of 50 competitors. Jared Wolfe carded a 78 and was in 19th place, while Mitchell Moore's 84 drew a spot in 41st place.
EKU's Jesse Massie was the leader after a 70.
The Country Club of Paducah is hosting the OVC Championship for the sixth time in seven years.
Tennessee Tech was in third place with a 308, while Austin Peay (310), UT-Martin (313),
Round two begins Monday morning with the first tee time at 8:30 a.m.
