MSU Soccer Ends Spring Season With Alumni Game

The Murray State Women's Soccer team hosted its last contest for the 2008 spring season by competing against former MSU players at Cutchin Field.
Rebekah Clay and Krista Muilkins had a pair of goals each and Renata Figueira also scored during the exhibition game for the Racers.
MSU's career goal scorer Theresa Reedy returned and got back into her old scoring ways for the Alum's with one goal.
Lacey Latimer and Katrina Meyers who were injured and took the coaching duties for the MSU alumni team.
It was a day for teammates to see each other again.
"It was great to see some old faces,” MSU Head Coach Beth Acreman said. “Alumni games are always a lot of fun and gives our former players a chance to brush the dust off their cleats and get back on Cutchin Field.”
“It also gave our loyal "Parents of Murray Soccer" group a chance to get back into action and support us from the hill. I would like to thank Mr Carlile (Cara Carlile's Father) for his amazing performance in goal during the last part of the game - he definitely put a smile on everyone's face - and was awarded a shutout for his efforts!"
With the end of the spring exhibition season, the Racers will complete final exams and break for the summer.
The fall season for
"We are all ready for August to get here,” Acreman said. “Our student-athletes' have learned a lot this spring and have definitely evolved as a group.”
When the fall season begins, the Racers will also welcome nine members of the 2008 recruiting class to the program.
“I'm excited to welcome our new players and know we can build on the success from last season,” Acreman added. “The team has worked hard over the spring season. We'll keep disciplined in our training this summer and we have a great group of players so the sky is the limit for this team.”
