Racer Golf Takes The Lead At Greystone

The Murray State Men's Golf team stands in first place after two rounds of the MSU Spring Invitational in
The Racers fired a first round 285 in the morning 18 and tagged a 283 to it in the afternoon round for a total of 568 and one shot clear of Tennessee Tech.
MSU leads all teams in par-3 scoring at even par, they also had the lead with 37 birdies.
Jerry Price is the overall leader in the field of 58 student-athletes after scores of 69-68=137; he carded 11 birdies on the day. Nick Newcomb, who had the lead after a morning 68, fired an even-par 72 in the afternoon for a 140 total and a spot in fourth place. Cameron Carrico is in 17th place after scores of 73-71=144, while Jared Wolfe is in 26th place along with Mitchell Moore. Wolfe carded scores of 75-72=147, while
MSU's Hunter Ford shared the lead with Newcomb after the first 18. Ford, playing as an individual followed his 68 with a 74 for a 142 total and a spot in 10th place. Chris Griffin had scores of 72-74=146 and stands in 24th place.

The final 18 holes of the MSU event begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
The Greystone Golf Club is playing to a par-72 and 6,858 yards.
After the first 18 holes in the morning, five of the ten teams in the field finished the first round at par or better. After 36 holes there are five teams under par.
