MSU Golf Has Good Showing At Kentucky State Women's Amateur

Former Murray State golfer Jessica Grace advanced into the Kentucky Women's Amateur semi-finals Wednesday with a 2-up victory over Jessica Smith. Grace is trying to defend her championship from 2007 when she won the title at Miller Memorial GC in Murray, Ky.

Other current MSU players had mixed results at Elizabethtown, Ky. Country Club.

Bethany Yates advanced to the championship flight consolation semi-finals with an 8&7 win over April Butler, while Megan McKinney lost her championship flight quarterfinal match 6&5 to Joan Rizer. Incoming freshman, Morgan Cross won her consolation match 6&5 over McLane Farr to advance to the semi-finals.

Former Racers Stephanie B. Watts and Tina Marshall each won matches.

Watts advanced to the semi-finals of the first flight consolation with a 3&2 win over Karen Puckett, while Marshall did the same in the third flight championship bracket with a 3&2 win over Chris Franklin.
