The 2008 Murray State football season officially got underway on Saturday morning as head coach Matt Griffin and his staff welcomed the players for the start of Fall practice.
"We are thrilled to get things going and have a lot of work to do over the next three weeks," said Grifin. "The players have reported in great condition and are eager to get started."
The Racers will hit the ground running as they will go through strength and conditioning tests over the weekend before taking to the practice field for the first time on Tuesday afternoon.
MSU will conduct three weeks of practices leading up to the start of classes and their season opener against Lambuth on Aug. 28. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Stewart Stadium.
