MSU Soccer Faces WKU and La-Monroe In Nashville

The Murray State Soccer squad is ready to compete this weekend in the Belmont University Showcase.

MSU also has a Sunday match with Louisiana-Monroe at noon. The location for that match will be determined later.
The Racers are 3-3 after splitting two matches in their own Hampton Inn Classic at Cutchin Field. MSU defeated North Carolina-Asheville last Friday 3-0, when they got two goals and an assist from freshman Rachel Wright. MSU only gave up one goal all weekend, but it came with 5:42 left in overtime Sunday in a 1-0 loss to future Ohio Valley Conference member SIU Edwardsville.
WEEKEND NOTES
The Racers will face two teams who have not lost a match this season. Western Kentucky is 3-0-1 with wins over
MSU's Rachel Wright was named the OVC's Offensive Player of the Week for a second straight time. She scored in the 16th and 48th minutes of a 3-0 Racer victory. She also assisted on the Racers' third goal in their win over UNCA.
MSU goalkeeper Tara Isbell is having an outstanding season. Last weekend she played all 190 minutes in goal and produced her fifth career shut out in a 3-0 win over UNCA. Her goals against average for the two matches was 0.50. The only goal she allowed was in the 99th minute Sunday against SIU-Edwardsville and it stopped her streak of scoreless minutes at 277. She made 10 saves in the two matches. Her season goals against average is down to 1.15, third in the conference.
