MSU Women's Golf In Second On The Beach

The Murray State Women's Golf team fired a 308 to take second place at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate in Sunset Beach, N.C. Friday.

The Racers shared second with Bethune-Cookman and each trailed first place Elon (303) by five shots.

Megan McKinney fired a one-under 71 and had the lead in the field of 91 student-athletes, while teammate Joyce Trus was in 15^th place after a 77. Bethany Yates had a 79 and stood in 23^rd place, while Morgan Cross was in 44^th place after carding an 81. Andrea Downer's 86 was good for a spot in 79^th place.

Alex Hinteregger is playing as an individual and stood in 54th place after an 82.

East Tennessee (309), Longwood (309), Cincinnati (312), James Madison (314), South Carolina Upstate (314), Gardner-Webb (321), and Xavier (322) rounded out the top 10.

The Racers play another 18 holes Saturday and finish the event Sunday.
