MSU Women's Golf Places 5th - McKinney 5th At Sea Trail

The Murray State Women's Golf team turned in a good showing with a fifth place finish at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate in Sunset Beach, N.C.

The Racers fired a final round 308 to go along with the 308 and 306 they had Friday and Saturday to finish with a 922.

Megan McKinney had her best collegiate finish when she fired rounds of 71-77-77=225 to finish in fifth place, while teammate Joyce Trus came home in eighth place with scores of 77-74-75=226. Morgan Cross placed 27^th with rounds of 81-76-78=235, while Bethany Yates was 44^th with scores of 79-79-80=238. Andrea Downer finished 68^th with scores of 86-82-78=246.

Alex Hinteregger played as an individual and finished 50^th with rounds of 82-82-75=239.

East Tennessee was the winner with a 905, while Longwood (912) finished second. Cincinnati (916) was fourth, with the Racers in fifth. James Madison (931), Bethune-Cookman (938), Belmont Abbey (939), Xavier (947), and Gardner-Webb (948) rounded out the top-10.

The Racers return to action Oct-13-14 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic at Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Ark.
