Racers Prepare For Battle Against Indiana

STORY LINES ? Both teams will feature the no-huddle spread offense. The Racers are in their first year of the spread offense, while the Hoosiers added the no huddle portion this season. ? The offense's were in high gear for both teams in the first game as Indiana amassed 450 total yards, while Murray State registered 438 yards of offense. ? Junior Nico Yantko will be making his first career start at quarterback against the Hoosiers. Yantko went 10-for-15 for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the opener against Lambuth. ? Senior linebacker Nathan Williams returned to the field for the first time since the 2007 season opener and tied his career high with 17 tackles, the most by any player in the FCS on opening weekend. vs. FBS Season-Opening Victory
? Saturday's game will mark the first meeting between the two schools. It is just the third game against a school from the Big 10. MSU played at Wisconsin in 1999 and at Minnesota in 2001.

MSU is 0-2 against teams from the Big 10. The Racers first game against a Big 10 opponent was Wisconsin in 1999. The Badgers handed MSU a 49-10 loss. The Racers next opponent was Minnesota during the 2001 season. MSU fell 66-10 to the Golden Gophers.
Saturday's game will be the first of two games against teams from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The Racers will play a second game against an FBS school when they travel to Western Kentucky on Sept. 20. It will mark the first time MSU will play two FBS teams in the same season.
The Racers improved their record to 47-33-4 in season openers after posting a 41-17 victory over Lambuth on Thursday evening.
The Racers return to Roy Stewart Stadium to take on Illinois State on Sept. 13. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
