After day one, in which all teams completed 36 holes, the Racers are in second place in a field of 11 teams with scores of 290-302=592. First place team and tournament host, Longwood is burning up the Manor Resort course after rounds of 287-283=570.
MSU's Jared Wolfe fired the low round of the day in round one with a five-under 67. He followed that with a 76 for a total of 143 and spot in third place. He is three shots behind leader Michael Young of Longwood who carded scores of 72-68=140.
Racer junior Nick Newcomb is in 11th place in the field of 60 players after scores of 73-77=150. MSU teammate Chris Griffin is also in 11th place with scores of 75-75=150. Hunter Ford shot rounds of 75-76=151 and is in 16th place, while Cameron Carrico is in 20th place after scores of 77-75=152.
MSU's Mitchell Moore is playing as an individual and is in 20th place after scores of 79-73=152.
