The Murray State soccer team will play the final match of their current eight game road trip as they travel to Martin, Tenn., to take on the Skyhawks of UT Martin, Sunday, Oct. 4th at 2 p.m.
MSU is currently 3-3-1 on the brutal road trip that has taken them out west and down south for matches.
Reigning OVC Offensive Player of the Week, Danielle McMurray, leads the Racers in goals and points with five and 11, respectively. The five goals are good for second in the OVC while the 11 points puts her third. The Racers have five players with six or more points this season.
Freshman, Katie Walsh leads the Racers in net with a 4-2-1 mark and 26 saves. She has allowed 14 goals for a goals against average of 1.87.
Racer Rewind
MSU wasn't able to slow down IUPUI as the Jaguars snuck away with their eighth-straight victory Tuesday afternoon.
Despite being outshot 16-6, the Racers pulled ahead 1-0 as Danielle McMurray notched her fifth goal of the season in the 46th minute of play.
The Jaguar offense proved to be too much though as they would answer back with two goals, one in the 53rd minute and the other coming in the 78th minute.
Katie Walsh fell to 4-2-1 in goal for the Racers as she tallied six saves and allowed two goals.
Scouting the Skyhawks
UT Martin, who was predicted to finish second in the OVC preseason poll, enters Sunday's match at 4-5-0 overall and 1-1 in OVC play. The Skyhawks are 3-0 at Skyhawk Field and have went 16-2-1 over the last three seasons at home, with one of the loses coming to MSU during the 2007 campaign.
11 different players have scored for the Skyhawks this season as Alex Windell is the only Skyhawk with multiple goals as she has two on the season and leads the team with four points.
Despite an offense that has only scored 12 goals this season, the defense has kept the Skyhawks in every game as they have allowed an OVC low eight goals on the season and is allowing less than one a game (0.89).
Aubrey Buehler leads the Skyhawks in goal with a 4-4 record while posting two shutouts. She is allowing 0.92 goals per game and has tallied 25 saves.
